ST. HELENA, Calif.October 14, 2008 – The Wine Country Inn, a 30-room NapaValley bed and breakfast, will host an expected annual Ode to the Olive celebration November 12-16, 2008, Inn officials announced today.
Jim Smith, the Inn’s innkeeper, said that the Ode to the Olive event will help NapaValley visitors learn about and enjoy another important—and beneficial—food product besides wine. “Obviously the NapaValley is well known for its world-class wine,” Smith said. “With this fun event, we hope to introduce folks to the olives and olive oils which also are produced here by many small, artisan producers.”
The Ode to the Olive event will include a series of food and olive oil tastings, tours to nearby NapaValley olive oil producers, and pre-arranged prix fixe dinner menus with nearby St. Helena restaurants. The event will culminate Saturday, November 15, with an “Ode to the Martini” stuffed olive event, olive oil tasting competition, and reception.
